Mr. Orlando has been a trial lawyer for just shy of twenty years. Importantly, the first half of his legal career was dedicated to defending businesses, insurance companies and individuals against whom personal injury and faulty products claims had been asserted. This experience now provides valuable insight into the minds and tactics of insurance companies and gives our law firm an edge in representing the injured party.
Presently, in addition to the pending E. Coli Outbreak class actions, Mr. Orlando is involved as a court appointed Steering Committee Member in the national class action against ConAgra Foods in the Salmonella adulterated Peter Pan Peanut Butter litigation. Mr. Orlando personally represents nearly 1,000 people made ill by this product, including six cases of wrongful death. In addition Mr. Orlando actively is pursuing several serious injury cases stemming from the botulism outbreak related to the recent Castleberry Foods' Chili Sauce Recall.
Other ongoing class action cases include Kugel Mesh Patch, Smart v. Brenntag Mid-South, Inc. (East Point, Georgia, as Lead Counsel), Brasher v. Norfolk Southern Railroad (Lincoln, Alabama, as member of the Plaintiffs' Litigation Management Committee, proposed, admitted pro hac vice), Bradford v. Union Pacific Railroad (Texarkana, Arkansas, as co-Lead Counsel for Plaintiffs' class), and Shapiro v. EQ Chemical (Apex, North Carolina, as member of the Plaintiffs' Litigation Management Committee, proposed, admitted to practice pro hac vice). In addition, Mr. Orlando has been active in several mass tort MDLs (Multi-District Litigation cases) throughout the country in, for instance, the cases involving the faulty drugs Baycol and Propulcid.
